Our People

A co-founder of the firm, Donal has considerable experience working with local Irish businesses helping them to develop and achieve their strategic objectives and goals. His primary areas of focus in the firm are in the areas of audit and taxation, with a special interest in international property investments. Together with co-founder Derry Crowley, Donal is the driving force behind the high quality, added value service ethos of the firm.

Donal is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and an Associate of the Irish Tax Institute.

Theresa specialises in providing audit and advisory services to a range of entrepreneurial and SME client. Her clients are engaged in a range of sectors including food processing, professional services, retail and public sector. She has extensive knowledge in the area of Irish GAAP. Theresa is also responsible for the delivery of general accounting and taxation advice to her diverse client base.

Theresa holds a Diploma in Business (Accounting) and is a Fellow of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Norma is the partner in charge of our Cork City office where she oversees the delivery of audit, accounting and tax services to a broad range of clients. Norma joined the firm in 2000 from PwC and has gained significant experience in the statutory audit and other assurance requirements of Credit Unions.

Norma has extensive experience in advising clients on financial reporting challenges in a variety of business sectors. She provides a holistic value-added service in all aspects of clients financial matters.

Norma is a Fellow of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants and an Associate of the Irish Tax Institute.

Michael Burke is Crowley & McCarthy’s principal audit and technical manager with particular emphasis on implementation of accounting and audit standards. Michael provides audit, accountancy and taxation services to a variety of clients, including Agricultural Co-operatives, Financial Services Companies, Credit Unions, Solicitors and SMEs.

Michael joined Crowley & McCarthy in 1999, following the completion of a BSc (Accounting) at UCC. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and is AITI qualified.

Jamie is one of Crowley & McCarthy’s home grown managers, having joined the firm as a graduate trainee in 2004. Jamie specialises in providing audit, accounting and taxation services primarily to companies and individuals in the SME sector and to UK companies operating in Ireland. Jamie has extensive knowledge in the area of Irish and UK GAAP.

Jamie is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland since 2008 and has a Masters degree in experimental psychology from Oxford University.

Patricia has dedicated her 30 year career to serving the needs of a large portfolio of sole traders, with a special focus on accounting and tax advice for farmers. She joined Crowley & McCarthy in 2007 following the acquisition of her previous firm, SWS Accountants, by Crowley & McCarthy. Patricia also manages our Bantry office, ensuring that local clients have easy access to her in-depth experience and advice.

Fiona specialises in providing audit and non-audit small business advisory and tax compliance services to a wide variety of corporate and sole trader clients, from diverse sectors.

Following the completion of a BA Business Studies (Accounting) at Cork Institute of Technology, Fiona joined Crowley & McCarthy in 2005 as a graduate trainee. Fiona is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland since 2009.

Michael specialises in accounting and taxation advice and compliance for a large portfolio of farmers and farm companies. His focus is on maximizing efficient tax planning for farmers and their families. His experience in the sector spans over 20 years.

Michael joined Crowley & McCarthy in 2007 following the acquisition of his previous firm, SWS Accountants, by Crowley & McCarthy. Michael also manages our Macroom office, ensuring that local clients have easy access to his in-depth experience and advice.
